Most mediation clients often find themselves navigating unfamiliar territory, with little awareness of how mediation works or the steps they can take to maximise their chance of a mutual outcome. As a result, they unintentionally fall back into the same patterns of behaviours that initially led to their conflicts and got them stuck in the first place.

We help our clients figure out how to make the best use of the process that we are offering them. This entails dedicating time to prepare and coach them to understand what they should and shouldn’t do to negotiate most effectively. Otherwise, we risk leaving clients exposed and uninformed about how mediation truly works – and this seems both unfair and unkind: neither of which sits comfortably as part of our job description.
