{"id":35239,"date":"2021-12-21T12:43:00","date_gmt":"2021-12-21T12:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nfm.org.uk\/?p=35239"},"modified":"2022-04-29T12:44:47","modified_gmt":"2022-04-29T11:44:47","slug":"family-law-awards-fundraising-drive-raises-4k-for-national-family-mediation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nfm.org.uk\/family-law-awards-fundraising-drive-raises-4k-for-national-family-mediation\/","title":{"rendered":"Family Law Awards fundraising drive raises \u00a34K for National Family Mediation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Funds w<em>ill be used to publish Parenting Plan booklets and to pay for consultations\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Generous guests at this year\u2019s Family Law Awards have helped to raise an impressive \u00a34k for the event\u2019s charity partner, National Family Mediation, which will go towards providing access to mediation for families with children who are struggling with conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Held on November 24<sup>th<\/sup>, at the Bloomsbury Big Top in London, the annual awards recognise the important work carried out by family lawyers, celebrating their many successes and outstanding achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year marked the 11<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary since the inaugural event, and the first to have taken place in person since the start of the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NFM &#8211; the largest provider of family mediation in England and Wales, and the only non-profit provider with national coverage &#8211; was the appointed charity partner for the 3rd year running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was chosen in recognition of the work that it does supporting legal professionals by managing the emotions and conflict surrounding divorce and separation, enabling them to focus on the legal issues that arise for their clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funds will now be used to do pay for the publication of specially designed Parenting Plan booklets that can be used to support both parents and children, as well as consultation sessions for families with expert mediators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>Jane Robey, NFM\u2019s CEO, said: \u201cThe last year or so has been so difficult for so many people, and we are dealing with more enquiries than ever from people who need our support.<\/p><p>\u201cThankfully, the funds raised at this year\u2019s Family Law Awards will go a very long way in providing access to mediation for families in crisis, and we are so very grateful to everyone that donated so generously.<\/p><p>\u201cJust \u00a330 pays for 200 booklets, and \u00a380 can fund a consultation session, which can prove truly invaluable in bringing a family back together.<\/p><p>\u201cAs the lawyers we work alongside know, when parents separate it\u2019s often the children who feel left behind, uncertain about the future with no place to share their concerns.<\/p><p>\u201cChild-inclusive mediation means we can help parents focus on their children\u2019s needs at this difficult time and help give them a voice.
