Winners, losers … and those caught in between

In the latest of her regular articles for ‘Family Law’, National Family Mediation CEO Jane Robey explains how professional family mediators challenge the culture of ‘winning’ and ‘losing’ that is particularly prevalent during international sporting contests like the men’s football World Cup.

She concludes that “at the end of the day, those who matter most in divorce or separation are not those who achieve a ‘victory’ or feel they’ve been beaten, but those caught in between. That means the children. Making the right decisions for them should be the separating parents’ first goal.”
