Resilience is the capacity to stay focused, aware and alert under pressure. Being a resilient mediator is about stepping into emotional turbulence without being swept away. The resilient mediator understands how resilience is dependent not only on what we do, but also on our attitudes and beliefs. Mediation is both stressful and tiring. Ensuring that we have the energy and enthusiasm to do the work is not always easy. It is, however, essential.
In this webinar we will:
- Reflect on our experience of resilience and its absence
- Explore what happens when resilience breaks down and the impact on performance
- Share tips for self-regulation in stressful situations
- Consider ways of building resilience in our clients as well as ourselves.
