In mediation it’s common to be working with families where there is neurodivergence. In fact divorce rates are higher for people who are autistic and/or ADHD.
This course aims to develop your awareness and knowledge about neurodiversity so that you can better support a neurodivergent child in mediation.
The initial online materials look at :
- What is neurodiversity?
- Terminology
- Young people explain…autism, ADHD, Tourette’s Syndrome, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia
- Masking
- Medical versus social media
The webinar will include :
- How to make adjustments to support a child in a way that is as effective as possible where there is neurodivergence
- How to prepare parents for CIM
- Questions to ask a child
- How the child’s feedback is taken on board
