Family Mediators come from a range of backgrounds: there’s no right or wrong entry path.  
 
NFM training is suitable for you if you’re considering working as a Family Mediator, and indeed for anyone looking to acquire new– or build on existing - skills and knowledge which can be used in a range of professional contexts, including mediation.

NFM training has two elements:

 

An introduction to family mediation: One day course

If you're considering a change of career, and would like to understand what family mediation involves, then this preparation day is for you.
You'll learn more about family mediation, how it works and what skills you'd need to develop to achieve the necessary qualification.
You'll also have access to an experienced family mediation trainer during the day who can help you with queries - for example about progressing to our specialist multi-module training courses.

The cost for this one-day course is £150. The day will run from 10.00am until 4.00pm, and lunch is provided.

Full family mediation training programme

Please note, the one-day preparation course is a requirement before registering for this full programme.
 
To attend the full training programme you will have to complete the application form (this can be done at the time of attending the preparation day). We will take up references and once full payment is received the training materials will be provided on the course start date. You will be expected to complete the independent learning tasks two weeks before commencement of the classroom based training. Please note, the one-day preparation course is a requirement before registering for this full programme.

  • Module 1 – Distance learning (20 hours) – to be issued 1st December 2018

Spring 2019
  • Module 1 – Distance learning (20 hours) – to be issued 1st March 2019

  • Module 3 – Distance learning (20 hours) – to be issued 1st May 2019
  • Module 4 – 6th – 8th June 2019 in London (classroom/group work)
Summer 2019
  • Module 1 – Distance learning (20 hours) – to be issued 1st June 2019
  • Module 2 – 11th – 13th July 2019 in London (classroom/group work)
  • Module 3 – Distance learning (20 hours) – to be issued 1st August 2019
  • Module 4 – 12th – 14th September 2019 in London (classroom/group work)
Autumn/Winter 2019-2020
  • Module 1 – Distance learning (20 hours) – to be issued 1st October 2019
  • Module 2 – 14th – 16th November 2019 in London (classroom/group work)
  • Module 3 – Distance learning (20 hours) – to be issued 1st December 2019
  • Module 4 –16th – 18th January 2020 in London (classroom/group work)

The course runs part-time over a four month period. 

The cost for this full training programme is £2,425 per person and a deposit of £770 is required to secure a place. Full payment must be made before the start of the course.
